Successful 3-month education work placement

Earlier this year, 21-year old Charlina from Osnabrück University successfully undertook a 3-month Erasmus+ work experience placement at a primary school in the heart of Cheltenham. Charlina, a trainee teacher specializing in English and History, is studying towards a Masters’ degree at Osnabrück to become a teacher in Germany.

During her placement, Charlina received in-school induction training to gain an understanding of UK school policies, such as health and safety, and safeguarding, and was carefully supervised and supported during her placement enabling her to enhance her confidence in spoken and written English as well her professional expertise. Charlina made a significant contribution towards the school by assisting with daily teaching and monitoring tasks both in the classroom and during a range of external visits.

Staying with one of Delingua’s wonderful hosts added to Charlina’s cultural insights and experiences, and gave her opportunities to meet with other overseas guests.

In her free time, Charlina spent time visiting key UK cities including Oxford, Cambridge, Cardiff, London and York. A visit to the historic house and gardens of Blenheim Palace, birthplace and ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill, gave insights into one of England’s foremost houses, which enjoys UNESCO world heritage status.
